Where is Whitney Point?

Whitney Point is along Interstate 81about 20 miles North of Binghamton. It's about 50 miles South of Syracuse. Most reasonable for those considering flying: Jet Blue from La Guardia in NYC to either Syracuse or Rochester and then hitching a ride with a list sib to the picnic. Discount fares and flight information at http://flyjetblue.com AirTran is also establishing discount service to Rochester in March and perhaps Syracuse in the near future. Possibilities also exist for flights to Scranton/Wilkes Barre...and then hitching a ride with a list sib. Most expensive flights go directly to Binghamton...Corning...or Ithaca. Ground transportation would be additional.

Driving times: Scranton...90 minutes Syracuse...1 hour Rochester..2 hours New York City or Philadelphia...4 hours. Custom directions available on request. Hotel/Motel information will be posted soon. There are other events in the area so early bookings are recommended. Camping is available on site. Cost is $25 per NYA member.
